Meet The Staff

Dr. Adams, DVM

Dr. Brett Adams was born and raised in South Louisiana and attended Louisiana State University for his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. After he graduated, he moved to Fort Pierce and purchased Midway Veterinary Hospital in 1996. Dr. Adams practices in small and large animal medicine, and in 2019 he added a second location to better serve the large animal patients and clients. In his free time he spends most of his time with his family, managing and growing his commercial cattle herd, and cooking for friends and family.

Jackie

Jackie has been a veterinary assistant for over 20 years. She is an office manager and surgical assistant at Midway Veterinary Hospital. She is very passionate about patient care and strong client relationships. She spends most of her time outside of work with her family and volunteering with youth in the community as a 4-H club leader.

Ashley

Ashley started working at Midway Veterinary Hospital in 2003 filling in at the front desk. Over time, she learned each area of the practice and more about veterinary care. She enjoys educating clients about pet care. Outside of the hospital you can find her spending time with her family, enjoying our amazing community, and exploring the outdoors.

Lacey

Lacey is a Veterinary Assistant and has been at Midway Veterinary Hospital for 3 years. She grew up in the 4-H program in St. Lucie County and remembers watching Dr. Adams heal animals at the Fair for as long as she can remember. Lacey is currently enrolled in the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician Course and plans to graduate in 2027, becoming a Veterinary Technician. Her goal everyday at work is to have every client leave with a smile!

Dr. Holland, DVM

Dr. Alicia Holland has been a Veterinarian at Midway Veterinarian Hospital since 1991. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Florida and has been treating primarily small animals since. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and volunteering for her church and other nonprofit organizations.

Kim

Kim is a Veterinary Assistant and has been a part of the Midway Veterinary staff for over 7 years. She enjoys educating clients on their pet’s health and relieving their pain. Kim is currently working toward becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician enjoys continuing to grow and learn about animal health. She has a cat named Freddy who likes to use her as a scratching post and personal chew toy!

Bree

Bree is a Veterinary Assistant with a huge heart for working with animals and pets. She enjoys coming into the office and being surprised with new things to see and work on. Her pet family includes four dogs and three cats that she loves to spend time with and spoil. She plans to go to North Carolina for Vet school and specialize in cattle and swine health. After school, she wants to move back to her hometown to start her own mobile practice.

Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn is a Veterinary Assistant and is working towards achieving her Veterinary Technician License. She one day hopes to run her own equine rescue and rehabilitation center and become an equine physical therapist. She enjoys working with animals and being able to learn new things every single day in this field. When she is not working, you can find her barrel racing, rehabbing and training her new gelding, or hanging out with her 6 dogs.

Dr. Smith, DVM

Jennifer

Jennifer has been a receptionist at Midway Veterinary Hospital for 6 years and enjoys helping people and their pets to get the best care possible. Her goal in this role is to make clients and patients feel welcomed and comfortable while they get the care they need. When she is not working, you can find her spending time with family and many pets, cooking, and working in her garden.

Bob

Bob is a Veterinary Technician and has been working in general practice and emergency for over 20 years. He began working in the veterinary field because he answered a blind add in 1998 and has become more knowledgeable ever since. A fun fact about Bob is that he spent 25+ years in the Thoroughbred race horse industry riding and training horses.
